New Things Happening

In our last Summer Day Camp meeting we decided that we need to have some pre-registration days so that we can be better prepared.  We are going to push for all of our church kids to be registered on Easter Sunday.  We will be planning about three other days to have pre-registration days for everyone so keep this in mind and in prayer that the lord will lead us when we do this.

We are also planning a day early in June a School's Out celebration to help promote the Summer Day Camp and the Master Clubs.  This day will be the first of our pre-registration days for the public.  We are tentatively looking at June 3 from 6pm till 10pm.  We will be having some type of food some games and we will end the night with a short movie.

Other days that we are thinking of for pre-registration are June 26, and July 19.

We are doing a lot of new things for our youth and we need help to promote the activities and help with running the events.

The youth isn't the only group that is getting a lot of attention; our senior citizens group Gateway Gold is a new thing that is promising.  Pastor Jeff is keeping us all on our toes with the expansion of this group into Gateway Great and Gateway Grand.  But we will have to keep watching and waiting till it is announced in the bulletin.

Keep all this in your prayers and do your part to help in every way that you can.

What do you think?

I think that we, as a congregation, should be doing more.  We should have a visitation program, we should have more in Sunday School, and we should have more people greeting people as they get to the service.  I think that more that just me would agree that we could do more.  I know that I could.  I think that our members should be more faithful and that our leaders should be better leaders.  We should show greater love to the community and do more for the betterment of the Real Church.  I think that we should spread the gospel and not just that God is good.  I think everyone should know that they are wretched and need a savior, and that Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, is the only savior.  I think that all of this is possible.

The only thing that stands  in our way is "What do YOU think?"   We are not hurting in our church but still we should always strive to do better but it will only work if you draw a circle around yourself and then start inside the circle.

Gateway Summer Day Camp

I just want to thank everyone that came last Friday night to the meeting to get the schedule in order.  The meeting was a great success.  We also Figured out what our second field trip will be.  We are going to skating in Carollton.  This Sunday we will be having another meeting to go over what all we have planned and to show where we all still need help.

I have a problem that I would like for everyone to pray about.  When I put in for this week off I was told that the Friday would not happen.  This has upset me for a few reasons but the main reason is that I have made a commitment that I might not be able to keep.  I really desire to be at the church for each day all day for the summer day camp.  Pray that an exception will be made and that I will be able to be there.  Also pray that if it isn't God's will for me to make it on that day that someone else will be able to be there to do what I have committed to do.

I want to apologize to my church about making this commitment with out knowing %100 that I would be able to make it.  But please know that it was not my intention to mislead anyone.

Sunday School is a building block

Our Goal for this year at Gateway has been stated several times in many different ways by Pastor Jeff.  It is "We have built our church Now It Is Time to Build the REAL CHURCH."  This is a simple idea with a not so simple task.  We actually have to do something.

I want to let you know that getting our Sunday School to flourish is a good way to start.  It is like Pastor Jeff was saying on Sunday Morning we need to make Christianity more attractive than secular things.  I am not convinced that we can do this if we do not enjoy it enough to come to Sunday School.  Another thing that I want to repeat from Pastor Jeff is that there is excitement in numbers so therefore Sunday School would be more exciting if we would all show up for it.

I don't believe that we can grow our church but it will be significantly harder if we can't grow our Sunday School.

Keeping you all in my prayers,
