A Stuggle to do what is Right

I am sitting here at work today, a Sunday, a Sunday that is supposed to be my off day.  I will be missing three weeks in a row from the Sunday Services at Gateway.  This bothers me to no end.

I know that everyone knows that Pastor Jeff is bi vocational, meaning that he has a job that he goes to for a living and he is the full time pastor here at Gateway.  Pastor Jeff has recently had a shift change at his secular job which interfered with his role as a Pastor here on Wednesday Nights.  This shift change began toward the end of last year, and Pastor Jeff had to start missing the Wednesday night services.  He soaked the issue in prayer and was joined in prayer over this matter by the congregation.  Right around the Thanksgiving Holiday God answered our prayers in a big way.  It excites me to know that God can do all things, and that he is on our side.  God has made a way for Pastor Jeff to continue his job on this new shift and be off on Wed. nights.

That being said I want to ask everyone to Join me in prayer about my job.  I am a Deputy Sheriff in Cobb County.  Everyone knows that this is a career which requires service 24 hrs a day everyday.  I realize that there will be conflicts with my secular job and my commitment as a full time servant of Jesus Christ.  I ask that you pray that my time away from my ministry due to work is minimal and that I am not assigned any extra duty work days on Sunday, because I miss being at my Church.  I also would like for everyone to pray for me to gain the wisdom about what God wants from me, because I asked for more extra days at work but when I received the news that what I had asked for is now hindering my ministry I realized that I didn't have such a good grasp on what God would have me to do.

Thanking you all for your prayers and still keeping you in mine,
Cainan
