We had a wonderful service last night. I am surprised at how much is going on here at Gateway and how good has been considering that Pastor Jeff told us last night that he has received more prayer requests in the last 4 days than he has since he has been our Pastor.
Pastor Jeff is going though the story of the temple being rebuilt at Jerusalem. He is mainly using the books of Ezra and Haggai. (because the Bible isn't written in chronological order) We are learning that one of the most important themes in the Bible is the Building of the Temple / Church. Hey, we are trying to rebuild the REAL Church. Just think, if God never changes, and God thinks it was important for the people in the old testament to build the church, then it stands to reason that GOD THINKS IT IS IMPORTANT for us to 'Build the Church.'
God saw that all the older/ ancient people did not like the way that the new temple was turning out and he told them to be strong and work because he was with them. So I say unto everyone who doubts that things can be as good as they used to be, God is still with us. I know; I can feel his presence in our services and in our Bible Study.
Pastor Jeff is going to continue on the thought of building the Real Church and will be teaching about when God's Temple is rebuilt. I want to encourage everyone to come and to be a part of our Wednesday Night service. If you have been neglecting that service then you haven't been as close to God as you could be.
Keeping you all in my prayers,
Cainan
